GGR Knowledge Brief 2- Green Space and Gender

GoGreenRoutes (GGR) is committed to ensuring that the benefits of nature-based solutions (NbS) are shared fairly and equitably across society. In the
absence of intentional planning, this is however not guaranteed. Race, income, gender, and other marginalised identities/ways of being can exclude individuals and communities from receiving the full potential of NbS interventions. This knowledge brief outlines the importance of Gender, Inclusions, Diversity (GID) aware planning, drawing from a publication produced by the project’s GID panel. Furthermore, it explores the role of gender in the Limerick greenway intervention, focusing on cycling, active travel, and families.
