STEP 1: DIAGNOSTIC

Mental Health and Wellbeing Scorecard for application at city level

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Scorecard is an easy-to-use tool for city officials working in urban planning, environmental care, and public health. It translates research on the link between nature and mental health into practical steps for creating healthier, more sustainable cities. The scorecard focuses on different areas for actionable steps based on research to help cities improve residents' well-being.

Challenge workshops and Urban Morphology Analysis

Challenge Workshops are all about involving citizens in planning future NbS. They bring together diverse groups to brainstorm and design projects for public spaces, discuss local needs, and assess strengths and weaknesses. These workshops also promote teamwork among government, city departments, and community groups to make sure NbS projects meet local priorities and include a range of perspectives.

Initial Health Impact Assessments

Health Impact Assessments (HIA) help create urban plans that improve sustainability, health, and fairness by focusing on green spaces, active transportation, and social interaction. The process includes screening to decide if an HIA is needed, scoping to set goals, appraisal to assess health impacts, reporting findings and recommendations, and monitoring to see if changes work. It also checks how well the plans address inequalities and reduce health-related.

Stakeholder mapping

Stakeholder mapping identifies and analyzes those affected by or interested in a project. It is crucial for urban projects, helping prioritize key stakeholders, improve strategies, foster new ideas, and build stronger relationships, ultimately boosting project success.

Gender Inclusion and Diversity Checklist

Gender equality, diversity, and inclusion (GID) are essential for effective NbS. A GID framework and checklist were created and can be used to ensure these aspects are integrated, covering gender, LGBTQI+ rights, accessibility, and diverse group inclusion in urban planning.

Seedbed Interventions

In the GoGreenRoutes project, "Seedbed Interventions" were defined as small, early-stage projects that test new ideas for urban greening and wellbeing. These pilot projects are proposed as tools to help cities explore and refine NbS on a smaller scale before larger rollouts. They engage the community, gather data, and build support, paving the way for more sustainable and healthier urban environments.
