Step 3: ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
Focus groups
A focus group gathers feedback by bringing together a small, diverse group to discuss a specific topic, product, or idea. The aim is to understand participants' opinions, attitudes, and perceptions. In these sessions, a moderator guides the conversation with open-ended questions, encouraging everyone to share their thoughts. The group dynamic allows participants to interact and build on each other’s ideas, often providing richer insights than individual interviews. In the GoGreenRoutes project, focus groups were conducted in each Cultivating City to capture stakeholders' views on the final evaluation and the impacts of implementing NbS.
Health Impact Assessment and Economic Analysis
Similar to initial HIAs, a HIA can evaluate how plans like NbS benefit health and well-being. By comparing data on environmental quality an space usage from before and after NbS implementation, the HIA assesses the health impacts associated to the changes due to interventions. It analyzes scenarios to determine population exposure, health effects, and economic value, supporting evidence-based urban planning.
